We're back

Due to a family emergency I had to take a 4 month hiatus, but now we are back! In fact, we held a jam yesterday with both new and familiar faces showing up--good times! Hope to do another one next month...

Beach Jam Success

Well, the beach jam really happened, and judging from people's comments and the pictures it looks like it was a success!

At some point the jam transformed into something more resembling a live event, with a fairly large audience gathering to watch from the boardwalk. The jam was even televised on local TV--wow!

I think that another outdoor jam is definitely in order, but with the winter season approaching it could be a challenge. We will see...

Beach Jam Rained Out

Well, the beach jam was cancelled due to rain, so we moved the jam indoors to the studio. It was a big let down, but there were still some fun to be had. Special thanks to Ishi who stepped up to the mike to beatbox for a few songs! One thing that I think that everyone can agree on is a jam without an afterparty isn't quite as fun. In the future I'll definitely keep that in mind...

I'm going to try to reschedule the beach jam again this month. Stay tuned...

June and July Session Tracks Up

I've uploaded the session files from June and July. I've also included a track listing for each session. Have a look if you are interested.

The July Jam Was Fun!

July's jam went very well, although the turnout was slim due to the jam being on a Saturday. From here on out I'll try to keep the Saturday jams to a minimum.

Anyways, July's jam might have been the silliest yet. Everybody was switching instruments and the vibe was very fun and casual (and sloppy too, but that's okay).

I was very impressed with the afterparty place, Gastro Pub Ales. Both the beer and food were excellent--not your typical pub food fare! I think we got a little carried away and ended up spending more than we intended. It's all good though.

Update on technical stuff: The website password management fixed has been fixed! Previously, the website login username/password and the username/password needed to download the session files were separate, but now I've integrated the two. Now you need only log in with your website username/password to download the session files.

The June Session Was the Biggest Yet!

The last session in June was the biggest jam session so far with 12 people participating! It was a bit cramped, but I think that everyone managed to get by. We'll need to upgrade to a bigger studio for next time!

The afterparty at the beer garden on the roof of the Maruwa building was a blast! Everyone managed to eat and drink their fill. The party ended with an impromptu "session" at Kego park. Good times!

The next session will be happening at the end of July. Stay tuned...

May Session Was a Success! Looking Towards June...

The May session was a success! We had lots of fun and MANY covers were played. The vibe was silly and casual, which is probably why so many people felt comfortable playing instruments they don't normally play. (I had no idea that Tommy could sing AND play drums!)

We are now looking to set the jam date for June. Discussions are on-going on the mailing list...

May Session Date Set

The session date/studio have been set for this month! Members of the jam mailing list should know the details...

Also, I added password protection to the session audio files. Now if you want to download past session audio you must enter in the correct username and password. People who participate in sessions will be privy to this information...

At some point I'm going to try to integrate the audio access username/password with the general website username/password, which will make credentials/things easier to manage.
