I uploaded information and audio tracks from the April session! This session got off to a slow start due to equipment problems, but was still a fun jam nonetheless! We made some nice songs! We have some cool blues tunes, some fun rockers, and a number of trippy/experimental numbers. Thee new people participated, and in all eight people joined the music merrymaking! Speaking of the afterparty, it was a different sort of crazy fun (the kind where everyone straps on randoseru and eats gobs of cheap, retro, Japanese okashi)! Kind of hard to explain--you had to be there! We even had an impromptu session at the izakaya complete with samisen, djimbe, raps, and a didgeridoo!

Thanks to everyone who came out to this last Sunday's jam! (7 people turned up, the room was packed!) As always, it was a lot of fun! We created some very memorable improvised songs, including an anti-trump protest song and a ditty dedicated to the didgeridoo, and new sounds were made on the keyboard that I didn't even realize were technologically possible! There was a lot of instrument switching (2 different people played keyboards, 3 different people played bass, 3 different people played guitar, 5 different people sang, and 5 different people played drums!)

We've been having somewhat regular sessions, but I haven't been very good about updating the blog portion of this site with the information. Anyhow, there will be a new session happening on the 26th of February. Should be fun!

Thanks to everybody who came to the jam in February! It was a good sized session with 3 new faces! Everyone was able to contribute to the songs and a good time was had by all. The post-session food and brews were also very tasty. The next session will be in April, stay tuned...

Oh yeah, we had a bonankai/jam this last December. It was extremely awesome. I posted the session information in the sessions page.
Also another jam will be coming up in February, which will feature a one-time-only appearance from a special guest from overseas...

The jam this month went great! There were familiar and new faces and people who I hadn't seen for literally years (well, one year). As always, the music selection/style style tends to change each time depending on the participants, and this time around there was definitely a harder, rock oriented edge (thanks to Aaron's blistering guitar work). The afterparty was fun too--excellent food and brews.
I updated the sessions page with a list of participants and songs from the last session. Audio files will be available at a later date. Hope to hold another session very soon!

Just finished up another awesome session this last weekend. I'd like to thank everyone who participated! Newcomer Joel was masterful on the harmonica (not to mention raps and the beatbox), and newcomer Soshi impressed everyone with his deft musicianship on not only the bass but the keyboards as well. The mood was silly, fun, and casual, I think that everyone had a blast. The afterparty at Cotton Fields was also great fun with good brews and good food. I'm going to be extremely busy the next few months, but hopefully we'll be able to squeeze in another jam sometime soon. Thanks again everyone!
