To celebrate the sakura season we held our first ever hanami session outdoors in the park. It turned out that due to cold weather the sakura were only sparsely blooming, but we still had a good time. Lot's of good eats--including numerous tasty homemade treats-- and drinks were had by all! The chilly weather made it hard to play instruments somewhat so we didn't play too many songs, but we still managed to attract a small audience anyway. Session link here.

Another awesome jam, and with eight participants (two newcomers) no less! A really fantastic way to start off the new year! The theme was more or less,"A Tribute to Dead Giants," (i.e. we honor great musicians who passed on the previous year by covering their songs) but we ended up just playing anything we felt. Great food and drinks at the afterparty too!

We just finished up our annual Christmas session! The overall mood was very festive and jolly and everyone was rocking and grooving to the holiday spirit. A record number of Christmas and holiday-themed songs were played, and we all even wore santa hats! Merry Christmas and happy holidays! Yoi otoshi wo!

The theme for this session was "strange musical toys," and people certainly brought in some weird gear! Crazy loops, noisy feedback, silly sound effects and more! During this session many curious new songs were created, the likes of which the world had never heard before and will never hear again. The after party at Fukuoka Craft was also extremely fun--Dave gave us a tour of the brewery and introduced us to his new bubbly creations!

There will be a session towards the end of May! The theme is "acoustic," and so all varieties of acoustic instruments are welcome. Should be fun!

The February session was silly and raucous, a fine way to start off the new year! Some amazing tunes were made with swashbuckling swamp riffs, wild funky beats, relentless instrument switching, and a no-holds-barred free-verse rap duel off? The next session will probably be in April. Hope to see you there!

I uploaded information and audio tracks from the April session! This session got off to a slow start due to equipment problems, but was still a fun jam nonetheless! We made some nice songs! We have some cool blues tunes, some fun rockers, and a number of trippy/experimental numbers. Thee new people participated, and in all eight people joined the music merrymaking! Speaking of the afterparty, it was a different sort of crazy fun (the kind where everyone straps on randoseru and eats gobs of cheap, retro, Japanese okashi)! Kind of hard to explain--you had to be there! We even had an impromptu session at the izakaya complete with samisen, djimbe, raps, and a didgeridoo!

技術的困難によってスタートが遅れたが、楽しいセッションでした！ブルーズ系、ロック系、それにアバンギャルド・実験的な曲まで、良い曲がたくさんできましたね！BONUS: セッションのアフターパティーで行っていた即興的なセッションの収録ファイルもアップしました！

We have a jam session coming up mid-month at a new studio! Two new people will participating--should be fun!
