The theme for this session was "Queen" (as in the band), and after a number of takes we managed to hammer out a decent cover! Apart from the Queen tracks, we were also able to put together some very impressive improvised original songs. Here are a few of the standout tunes from the session:
・Crazy Little Thing Called Love turned out really good, especially considering the technical complexity.
・Tickle Me Raw Funk is a very fun and funky instrumental.
・Flashlight Light Up the Night is a upbeat funk rock song that really grooves.
・Matching Spoons is amazing, dark, opera-esqe, rock/metal ballad.
・All I Ever Wanted Was You is a sweeping, beautiful, and emotive track with jagged razor-blade edge. This is my favorite of the bunch.
It's very, very hard to believe that all these songs (aside from the Queen one) were completely original, unrehearsed, and totally improvised!
